DESIGNER NOTES
Cabrinha designer Pat Goodman describes the 2026 Switchblade Design Works as a new high-performance Aluula version of the Switchblade, with numerous improvements designed to take advantage of the Aluula leading edge and strut construction.
The Design Works version has a slightly higher aspect ratio and a significant decrease in leading edge diameter. These changes improve overall efficiency, steering speed, responsiveness and weight reduction.
The aerodynamic profiles have been modified for faster flight speeds and improved upwind performance, while the updated bridle system is optimised for the optional High-Y / High-V control setup. This improves steering speed, turning radius and bar feedback, creating a more pivot-style turn with less pull and tighter, more controllable kiteloops.
