Description

JP Australia XR PRO: Stability-First Progression, Without Compromise

The JP XR PRO is designed to make wing foiling feel easier from the first session to confident progression. With a slightly extended shape and constant volume distribution, it delivers exceptional stability, fast and efficient take-offs, and a calm, well-connected ride both on the water and in flight.

Performance Highlights

  • Stability is the key — confidence on the water and in flight
  • Fast, efficient take-offs — reduced drag and clean release
  • Easy balance from getting on the board to lift-off
  • Touchdown recovery aided by unique tail cut-outs
  • Perfect blend of stability and performance for progression

Wind Range Guidance

Boards don’t have fixed wind ranges like wings, but the XR’s added stability and efficient release make it a strong choice when you want easy take-offs and forgiving recoveries in real-world gusty conditions.

Wind (knots) What it feels like Why the XR helps Setup tip
10–16 Marginal / learning wind Stable platform + efficient bottom design helps build speed and release cleanly Use a larger front wing; set mast slightly forward for easier lift
16–24 Everyday freeride Confidence for jibe practice and consistent touchdowns Dial mast position for balance; straps optional
24+ Powered / choppy Stability remains a benefit; some riders may prefer shorter boards for max agility Consider smaller foil; adjust stance for speed control

Quick rule: Choose XR if you want the easiest balance and most forgiving platform for progression. If you’re prioritising freestyle pop or wave-style carving, a shorter, more compact outline can feel more reactive.

Design Profile

The XR is built around stability and ease of use. Its slightly extended shape and evenly distributed volume create exceptional balance, making everything from getting on the board to take-off feel more effortless.

For quicker, more efficient take-offs, the XR’s elongated outline and refined profile reduce drag, while a subtle concave deck improves comfort and delivers a strong, well-connected feel to the foil.

Proven Shape Features

  • Subtle nose rocker with a double concave V for better glide, quicker acceleration and smooth take-off
  • Defined rail tuck line for crisp water release and efficient lift transfer
  • Pronounced tail rocker to improve flight position and increase nose clearance
  • Unique tail cut-outs to reduce wetted surface for more efficient take-off and quick touchdown recovery

All-New Tracks

The redesigned tracks feature large openings for easier foil-to-board assembly. Drop the plate nuts in while mounted on the foil, slide into position, tighten, and you’re ready. Removal is just as simple.

To preserve structural integrity, there are no unnecessary additional openings. Boards with the new tracks include a set of 4 plate nuts for a secure fit, superior load distribution, and ideal thread engagement. The foil positioning scale between the tracks is mirrored on the deck EVA pad, so you can reference foil placement relative to your back foot.

Tech Specs Highlights

  • Slightly longer shape offers an enlarged surface area
  • Constant volume distribution for unmatched stability
  • Stretched outline allows a thinner profile, reducing drag in the air
  • Slight concave deck for comfort and a strong connection to the foil
  • All-new tracks for easy foil-to-board assembly (includes 4 plate nuts)
  • PRO boards feature full high density PVC sandwich deck and bottom for stiffness-to-weight performance with Innegra rail reinforcement
  • Tracks embedded in high-density blocks from deck to bottom for an extremely stable construction

FAQ

Is the XR PRO suitable for beginners?
Yes. The XR is designed around stability and easy balance, making it a great choice for beginners who want quicker progress and calmer take-offs.
What makes the XR easier to take off than many boards?
The XR combines a stable platform with a refined bottom shape for glide and acceleration, plus clean water release from its rail tuck line and tail features.
Is the XR still fun once I’m progressing?
Yes. It’s built as a progression platform that still feels controlled and sporty. Many riders keep it as their “reliable” board for gusty days and consistent sessions.
What do the new tracks change?
The new tracks make foil assembly easier with larger openings, while keeping structural integrity. The board includes 4 plate nuts and a mirrored positioning scale for repeatable setup.
Do I need footstraps on the XR?
Not necessarily. Many riders learn strapless first. Straps can help once you’re riding faster, jumping, or want more locked-in control.
